Wow, the last time I wrote on this blog was in 2024. I’ve been thinking about digging this blog out of the closet for a while now, because it gives me more space then Instagram to write my thoughts on watercolor and other related issues. My Instagram site gives me the vapors because I earnestly and thoughtfully post my artwork there and get very few comments or followers. The only time I do get over 2 comments is when I post a somewhat humiliating picture of myself.
Here’s what I’ve been up to since I last posted here. Teaching for Miracosta and our local libraries here in San Diego. I’ve also continued to teach workshops in Europe, the last few in Switzerland, Austria and France. When we were in France in April, we tried a new type of workshop format. We spent 5 days in the North of France in the harbor town of Honfleur, where we painted daily but made no other plans other then to hang out and enjoy the town and the company of other painters.
Posted here is a painting I did from a photo I took in Honfleur. We were lucky enough to be in France when the wisteria was blooming, and this gate tells the story.
